Wyrd Yoga may seem like an odd name at first, but its origin is not. The term wyrd is of Anglo-Saxon origin and refers to the web of existence: the universal notion that all living things and all activity are interrelated. Though there is much more to this term, this brief definition suffices in that it helps explain the foundation of Wyrd Yoga.
Gioia Pharo, a veteran yoga and fitness instructor, has developed Wyrd Yoga gradually through the various classes she has taught at some of the premiere sport and health facilites in the Washington metro area. Gioia(pronounced Joya) has incorporated elements of movement, healing, meditation, Qi Gong, Pilates, and various yoga forms to create a unique exercise and relaxation experience that has satisfied students for the last fifteen years.
The Yoga/Pilates Studio in Strasburg, VA is Gioia's pride and joy and offers a range of exciting activities for individuals and small groups. Moreover, the focus is on the students not the instructor. Gioia tailors each class to the dynamics of the student(s). Also, because the class sizes are small, there is excellent one-on-one instruction, so no student will be forgotten in the crowd. The studio is intimate and inviting, which adds greatly to the overall experience.
The studio also features the work of other independent instructors and therapists. The studio offers affordable rental rates which makes it possible for the healers at our studio to receive a fair income. If you are interested in utilizing the studio, please contact Gioia or her husband, Til Turner, for more information..
Please visit the studio when you are in Strasburg. We look forward to meeting you!
